Keep Up With Camp!

We love to welcome spinners from around New Zealand, and internationally, to this exciting, creative and fun social and educational experience! Our goal in running these retreats is to bring together high quality tutors that our spinning community may not normally have easy access to. The weekend is primarily about learning and community, rather than being a Majacraft sales opportunity.

What You Can Expect

Each Camp has a theme, and a selection of wonderful teachers from New Zealand and around the world. We provide everything you need, from class fibre, tools, and all the essentials for each learning opportunity, as well as full room and board at our Papamoa New Zealand venue. We want everyone to feel welcome and able to gain the most possible from the experience. We are also very happy to be able to host Majacraft Camp in Australia whenever we can too, with equally lovely venues and classes.

Majacraft Camp spans three days, starting on a Friday afternoon and running through till the Sunday afternoon. Attendees are split into 3-4 groups to keep the class numbers to a reasonable level. We organise it so that every group is able to attend all classes in rotation.

Cost and Venue

Our mission is to keep Camp affordable for most people – so we work to keep the costs as low as possible, while still providing an enjoyable weekend.  Accommodation is provided with comfortable shared rooms, with a limited number of motel rooms also available.  Many of our campers come each year to have a weekend away with friends, doing something they love (and no cooking or clean up involved!)  Just bring your weekend away bag, spinning wheel and enjoy!

Do I need a Majacraft Wheel?

There is no requirement for you to have a Majacraft wheel or tools in order to attend our Camp! You are welcome to come along with your usual wheel, and if you are traveling to us by plane or are unable to bring a spinning wheel with you, we can arrange a loan wheel for you. We also provide all the tools needed for our classes so you do not need to fill up your luggage with extra equipment.

We limit the number of attendees to suit the facilities and keep the class sizes reasonable, so we do recommend getting your name onto our Camp Email List to be the first to get all the news about each upcoming Camp, with information about tutors, dates, and fees.

Use the following form to let us know you wish to be added to the List!
