Hej fra Danmark! My name is Thorild, living on the small island Strynoe in the southern Denmark. I was knitting before I learned to read and the needlework I did as a child had to be most complicated to be interesting. Today the joy of handcraft is to make useful items of first class natural raw materials with a classic design. Weaving linen towels, knitting handspun wool from my own Scandinavian sheep, dying with plants and growing my own food, organic and clean - that is what happiness is made of. My spinning career started with a Turkish drop spindle, just to try it out and youtube was the place where I found enough information on how to do it. My goal is to inspire other people to spin and to spend time doing what I love most: being creative and work with animals. On our farm I have a shop and a workshop for courses, and our little island is a wonderful and peaceful place to live and to visit. I wish you welcome!

designPrik started in 2002, making patchwork and individual design for the home. In the meantime I have settled on a small island with my husband, farming organic and breeding Scandinavian sheep. As a dealer of Majacraft, I hope to reach out to the Danish spinners with the joy of spinning on a first class wheel and getting inspired by the features of this excellent creative tool.

You will find me on several events and courses cross the country during the year. You will find more details on the website. The shop will open all year round, but outside the tourist season it will be helpful if visitors give me a call to get the best service as posible. Don't hesitate to send me a mail or call if you have questions. To visit Strynoe, you need to catch the ferry from Rudkoebing. Sail for 29 minutes and you will find my farm on the right hand, next to the harbour. Visit www.strynoe.dk for schedule. You can leave the car at the harbour in Rudkoebing.
