Vintage Purls

I love all things associated with vintage knitting and collect pre 1960s patterns. I’m particularly fond of patterns from the World War II era and find the whole “Mend and Make Do” period of social history fascinating. At the end of 2007 I quit my ‘real’ job to lead a more fibre focused life: I hand-dye sock yarn (and a little laceweight, fibre and other weight yarns) and I import Knit Pro needles and Namaste products into New Zealand. You can find both my yarn and needles in my online shop.

Vintage Purls both produces yarn and fibre and also stocks select imported goods for knitters and spinners. Additionally, I teach around New Zealand regularly. My next teaching engagement is at Unwind (www.unwindretreat.co.nz).
