The Woolery

THE WOOLERY In 1981 Marianne Horchler founded The Woolery in Genoa, NY. In 2001, Marianne and her husband Tim moved The Woolery to Murfreesboro, North Carolina to get a break from the harsh winters in upstate NY. In 2009, Chris and Nancy Miller purchased the business and relocated it to Frankfort, Kentucky. Since the move to Kentucky, The Woolery has expanded twice with the most recent addition being the Weaving Center in 2014. In June of 2015, Wave and Perri McFarland purchased the business from the Millers. The McFarlands continue The Woolery’s traditional focus on serving the fiber arts enthusiast with excellent customer service, an extensive product array, and competitive prices. Historic downtown Frankfort is a wonderful place to visit; small enough to be small town friendly, yet big enough to offer travelers the amenities that they expect. The vast array of architectural styles, famous landmarks, museums of Kentucky's past and unique shopping make Frankfort a special place to visit.

The Woolery was established in 1981. The business was operated out of Genoa, NY until February, 2001 when it was moved to Murfreesboro, NC. In January, 2009 it was moved again, to Frankfort, Kentucky. In 1981 we had a one-page, typewritten "catalog"; we were one of just a handful of fiber arts retailers in the country. Today the crafts and market are much different and we are happy to have grown to be the premier supplier in the country with a web site that is the most comprehensive on the internet. Now, in addition to being the premier supplier of fiber arts supplies, and with our new location in Frankfort, we endeavor to be a world class fiber arts training facility and fiber artist showcase. The vast array of architectural styles, famous land marks, museums of Kentucky's past and unique shopping make Frankfort a special place to visit.
